  • Pre-existing conditions?

As I understand pre-existing conditions are not covered by any insurance for visitors. But what is puzzling is this: For me and my spouse, on H1B and H4 visas respectively, the insurance company never asked about any pre-existing conditions. Apparently, pre-existing conditions are covered? What is the difference between this type of insurance and the ones visitors get (apart from employer paying for chunk of the insurance)?

Pre-existing conditions are not covered in any of the visitors medical insurance.

You must have group medical insurance through your employer. It works entirely differently than visitor medical insurance. If you try to search for insurance on your own, you will still run into pre-existing conditions exclusions probldem.

International medical insurance works entirely different from domestic medical insurance.

      Re: Cruise, tour, and travel

First of all, those are all travel insurance plans and not really medical insurance plans.

And most of those plans are available only to US citizens traveling from US to outside US. They are not available to people traveling into US.

There are couple of plans like Cruise, tour, travel and Protect Assist (available on www.insubuy.com/trip-cancellation-insurance/) that they say pre-existing conditions covered if you purchase insurance within certain days of initial trip deposit. But in reality, there are so many restrictions on that, by the time you filter those restrictions, there is virtually nothing covered.
Diseases should not be chronic, it should be sudden unexpected reoccurance of previous diseases and stuff like that. Most diseases will not qualify for this.

No insurance company can provide insurance to individuals that would cover pre-existing conditions. That is so obvious. If there is any company that truly cover them, they would be in big loss as they will surely end up spending more money than they collect from you. And they will go bankrupt very soon. It is just not economical for any company to do that.

I hope it is clear now. If you have any questions, please post it back here or call us at 1-866-INSU-BUY
