So, I am in a dilemma. Please suggest which one woube be good. My aprents are 60-75 age group with minor pre existing conditions but with relatively good health and they are planning to stay here for 5-6 months.

    Any suggestions? Thanks,

Please note that we at https://www.insubuy.com are insurance brokers and work for you, not for any particular insurance company. We help you choose the most suitable plan for your needs. We offer many different plans from different companies.

Most plans fall into two major categories:
    Fixed: Cheaper, limited coverage
Comprehensive: More expensive, much better coverage
You can read more about it at https://www.insubuy.com/visitors-insurance/

As this terminology is not used universally, pay attention to whether there are any sub-limits for different medical procedures. e.g., even though actual amounts may vary by a plan, $55 for Dr. visit, $330 for emergency room visit, $3,300 for surgery and so on are common for $50,000 policy maximum. If there are sub-limits, any such plan would be considered a fixed coverage plan (scheduled benefit plan) or a limited coverage plan and is signficantly cheaper. We offer several such plans such as Visitors Care, Inbound USA etc. Comprehensive plans don't have such inner limits or sub-limits.

You can compare different plans side by side on our web site at https://www.insubuy.com and accordingly decide which one would be most suitable to you.

If you have any questions, please feel free to post them here or contact us at any time.

Thanks for your reply and I have gone through the web site you have given.

      I have below doubts.

      1. What is co-insurance amount and Is it different from dedutable amount in comprehensive policy?

      2. What if total amount expenditure exceeds the limits of the policy. Will the patient responsible to pay rest of the amount (total amount - (limit of the policy - (deductables amount + co-insurance amount))).

      3. I have seen many policy has very small limit on Anesthetia, Will that amount be sufficient during general emergencies. (Because, the max. limit of anesthetia seems very less to me, I might be wrong, please calrify.)

      Please explain in detail.

      Thanks,

        1.

Lets say you have taken the plan with $50,000 policy maximum, $250 deductible and 90/10 coinsurance.

You have to first pay the deductible before insurance company pays anything at all. That means, in this case, you have to first pay $250, even for Dr. visits.

After that, it pays 90% for first $5,000 in eligible expenses, you pay 10%. That is, you pay 10% of $5,000 = $500.

After that, it pays 100% up to policy maximum, $50,000.

You can also look at 'How Plan Works' link next to each plan at https://www.insubuy.com/visitor-insurance/

        2.
You will have to pay the expenses above the policy maximum limit. Therefore, we recommend that you choose at least $100,000 or more as the policy maximum.

        3.
I have not seen any such limit on Anesthesia in comprehensive plans. Most plans cover up to policy maximum.
Which plans are you referring to that has small limit? I don't think that plan would be comprehensive coverage plan.

I hope that answers your questions.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to post them here or contact us at any time.

Thank you for your quick response. You mentioned 'you have to first pay $250, even for Dr. visits. '. What is Annual deductible? Will Annual deductible applicable even in cases like extension of policy?

          1. Does this dedutible applicable to per sickness or ONLY once during policy period.

1a. If it is per sickness, I think that this policy would not be useful for minor illness or injury.

1b. If it is per duration, What happens to deductible amount in case of extension of policy. Will that deductible reset after extension of policy period. (Eg. If a person takes insurance for first three months and later extends for another two months. If first illness occurs during first three months and second illness occurs in second extension.). In this scenario, Will the insurer need to pay two deductible amounts?

          2. I have seen that some other providers/agents claim that they can provide PRE-Existing Rider value upto $20,000 for people with age 70+. Do you have any similar policy which you can recommend to me.

Thank you for your answers in advance.

            1.
It is per policy period. When you renew, the deductible carries over and therefore, you still need to pay online once.

            2.
Are you planning to buy fixed coverage plan or the comprehensive coverage plan? Anyway, I recommend that you read http://www.immihelp.com/forum/showthread.php?t=38527

I am planning to buy comprehensive plan and my dad is 70+ years age and he is diabetic. His health is relatively very good and he never had any health emergencies or big illness.

Hence, to avoid any risk, I would like to choose any policy which can provide him pre-existing condition benefits and can you please answer my second question now.

              2. I have seen that some other providers/agents claim that they can provide PRE-Existing Rider value upto $20,000 for people with age 70+. Do you have any similar policy which you can recommend to me.

Can you recommend any policy in above scenario and also with MEDICAL EVACUATION AND REPATRIATION benefits?

              Thanks in advance.

Regarding pre-existing conditions, please read http://www.immihelp.com/forum/showthread.php?t=38527 It has everything I have to say about this matter. Please ask any questions directly to the provider of the plan that we do not sell as I am unable to comment on them.

You look at the different plans and decide accordingly whatever is the most suitable plan for you.

Please call me if you need further information.
                Thanks & Regards

No matter how much I write about pre-existing conditions, people still keep looking for and want to buy insurance for pre-existing conditions.

In addition to everything I have wrote so far, in what other words can I explain?
                    Thanks & Regards
