Sir/Madam, my mother is planning to visit me in September 2008 and I was planning to buy a comprehensive plan for her. She is 69 years of age and would be turning 70 in Jan next year. My questions are as follows: 1. Since the premiums are significantly higher for a person over 70, could I buy insurance at the lower rate if I buy it for one year? Or do I have to pay the higher rate from January onwards? 2. Does my mother have to undergo any medical exam or provide any certificates? Thanks and regards,

1. If you buy the insurance for her for 1 year when she is 69, you would have to pay the premiums according to 69 years of age.
Dependening upon the plan and the policy maximum you are planning to purchase, there may be other consequences. Therefore, if you let me know that, I can verify everything.
2. No.

thank you for your quick response. I had two more questions -
1. Do these insurance policies typically cover cataract surgery (Is there a policy that will cover cataract surgery)?
2. If I buy insurance for one year and later have to cancel after, say 8 months, is there a cancellation fee involved, and would I get a refund?
Is it possible to come in person to your office and discuss the type of insurance suitable for my mother?
