  • Visitor insurance for parents

    Hi Narendra,

My parents are visiting me shortly for 2 months and I would like to purchase visitor insurance for them. They are in their 60's and do not have any pre-existing conditions other than occasional backache. For best protection, I would like to purchase comprehensive insurance for them.

I am a resident of New York City and they will spend most of their time in NYC with possible trips to Philadelphia, Washington DC and Florida. Can you please recommend some comprehensive insurance plans which would be valid not just in NYC but also while we travel to other cities? Do I need separate medevac and repatriation coverage?

    Thank you.

    1. In your situation, I suggest that you purchase Protection America, available at https://www.insubuy.com/patriot-america-insurance/

It will cover them anywhere outside India.

    2. No, you don't need those separate coverages. They are already included.
    Thanks & Regards

      Hi Narendra,

Thanks a lot for your quick response. Can you please let me know the difference between coverages of Protection America and Atlas America. My parents will only be visiting USA and not any other countries.

      Thank you.

Thanks Narendra. Is Protection America the most comprehensive medical insurance for NY state? I will try to call your office tomorrow or day after to purchase whatever policy is most suitable for my parents.

Do they have to carry a proof of insurance before boarding the flight for USA?

          Thank you.

            1.
You are welcome to call at any time and discuss this with us. However, I have already suggested you the most suitable plan for you in your situation.

            e.g.,
Patriot America - Not renewable if you buy for less than 3 months.
            Atlas America - Read https://www.insubuy.com/hccmis/new-york-notice/
Visit USA - Not renewable at all. Not refundable after effective date.
Diplomat America - Not renewable. Not refundable. Max coverage $1,000 for sicknesses within first 30 days etc.
            and so on.

Protection America is renewable in case needed, is refundable in case of early departure, has an excellent PPO network called First Health PPO.

            2.
No, they are not required to carry the proof, but they are recommended to carry it just in case they were to need it during travel.
            Thanks & Regards
