Travel insurance-Discount from hospital

Hi,

My wife who is in H4visa since Aug 2008 has a Patriot America travel insurance. She does not have a SSN but has a ITIN. Last year she visited a hospital (Cleveland Clinic) and the bill is about $2000 ($400 for consultation and $1600 for blood tests). Th insurance company sent us a questionaire asking for previous such illness. Then the insurance company denied any payments saying that pre-existing conditions are not covered.

Now, is there a way to get some discount from the hospital. Whom should I contact in the hospital in this regard. Please let me know

You can contact the billing department of the hospital to see if they are willing to work with you to reduce the payment.
