Regarding: Health Care Reform in the United States
Ladies and Gentlemen:
Today President Obama signed into law the Senate Health Care Reform bill otherwise known as H.R. 3590 the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. As with every health insurance organization, IMG is analyzing this legislation includings its impact, if any, on the international business. The legislation appears to be applicable to domestic health insurance that covers US citizens and permanent US residents, rather than international insurance programs. Final analysis of this very large and complicated bill is pending, however.
Also, please be aware that there are numerous efforts underway in the US Senate, by states and state governments, and by private companies and individuals challenging the legislation. One or more of these could alter the impact of the legislation.
IMG will continue to update you on developments in the area of US Health Care Reform as they arise.
