I need some guidence reg Travel insurance. I am planning to visit US from 5may10 to 11-Oct10 I need to buy travelinsurance for me and spouse. What is the insurance you suggest? Indian ICICIlambord, bajaj-Alliancs or Tata-AIG or by an US agency. how much the coverd amount US$50000 or US$100000 or more my age 60 and wife's age 52 Shall i buy for the full term or monthly or twomonths and renew later. If i buy full term and return early can i get refund for uncoverd period If i buy for a momth can i renew at the same price if there happens to be a clime. ICICI lambord india is climing a tie up with US UHC and cashless coverage. can you check with UHC if all the medical needs if arise will be settled by UHC& ICICI-lambord directly with doctor or hospital Can i purchase a US policy from india, or some one in US has to purchase for us, how documentation cal be completed. Any other guidelines Thanks and Regards

Thank you for your interest in purchasing visitors medical insurance.

It is definitely better to purchase the insurance from the U.S. company. Please read https://www.insubuy.com/visitors-ins...ia-comparison/ to understand the difference between buying from U.S. vs India.
The notable difference is: most companies in India offer only fixed coverage plans (for age over 55 years) which only pay a small portion of the actual expenses. Please read https://www.insubuy.com/visitors-insurance/ to understand fixed vs comprehensive coverage plan. We can't make specific comments on the foreign companies we don't offer insurance from. You will have to verify with the U.S. hospitals yourself where you are visiting whether they take Indian insurance and provide cashless treatment.

You can consider buying Atlas America, available at https://www.insubuy.com/atlasamerica-insurance/ Even though you can buy $50,000 or $100,000 or higher amount, we recommend that you buy $100,000 or more better protection. It is a PPO plan and has widely recognized PPO across the U.S.

You can buy Atlas America for any duration and renew it. There is a $5 renewal fee whenever you renew. Otherwise, the total premiums remain the same either way. If you buy in lump sump and you leave early, you can get the refund for pro-rated duration minus $25 cancellation fee as long as no claims have been submitted since the original effective date.

You can our insurance plans either from the U.S. or from India or from anywhere in the world, as it is an instant purchase online with the international credit or debit card. There is no documentation required. You just need your name, date of birth and passport number to apply on the web site.

I hope this answers all your questinos.
