Masters degree in Civil Engineering or a related field plus one year or Bachelors degree plus five progressive years of civil engineering risk management experience. Must have at least one year of experience in each of the following 1. Identifying environmental risks and developing risk management strategies for civil engineering projects; 2. Developing storm surge and vulnerability models including modeling flood and wind risks due to hurricanes; 3. Developing and calibrating hurricane wind, storm surge, and inland flood vulnerability functions; 4. Estimating AAL, PML, and loss cost for hurricane wind and storm surge; 5. Developing and coding models in Matlab and building probabilistic models to estimate catastrophic hurricane risk; and 6. Performing model testing, including sensitivity, uncertainty, relatively, and stability tests; and 7. Analyzing data using SQL and GIS.
