Parking

There is no parking provided by the U.S. Consulate. It would be best if you used public transportation to visit the Consulate.

If you need to arrive by a personal vehicle, you can park in the commerical parking lots that are not associated with the consulate. You will see several private parking lots nearby that have clearly labeled signs and visible attendants. Please use these parking lots only. Do NOT park on streets around the U.S. Consulate.

Lost / Stolen Passports with a Valid Visa

Fill out an Incident Report (Boletim de Ocorrência) at the police station closest to where the incident happened. Fill out the Lost or Stolen Passport Form, and follow the instructions on the form.

All early and emergency appointment requests must be submitted by theVisa Information Provider and not by fax or any other means. 

Please don’t arrive at the consulate more than 30 minutes in advance of your appointment time. Please arrive as close to your appointment time at possible. The consulate sets up the appointments in half-hour blocks for up to 150 people at a time.

Monday through Friday, except Wednesdays and official U.S. and Brazilian holidays

Interviews: 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM
Diplomatic/Official Passports: 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM
Visas with errors issued within 1 year: 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM

All non-emergency services are by appointment only. You must schedule an appointment online

Any requests for special assistance, such as wheelchair access, help in ascending stairs, etc., should be sent by email.

You need to mention only one of the needed services for your appointment, even if you need multiple services. 

You can use the same link above to cancel your appointment. Please provide an advance notice of at least 48 hours. Otherwise, you will have to wait one week before being able to schedule again.

Please arrive to the ACS Section (do not stand in the visa application line) 15 minutes prior to your appointment time.

Emergency Services

There is no appointment required for emergency services. Emergency assistance is available 24 hours a day.
