Visa Stamping from Canada/ Mexico

For stamping.. does anyone want to share accommodation? Ladies only please.

Our visa interview was early in the morning @8 am. Before you enter the embassy there will be a security person who will check your appointment letter. Once you enter the embassy you will have to provide your Passport, DS-160 confirmation and a photograph. Make sure you have a recent photo and should not be more than 6 months old. Our photos were like a year old so we had to get a new photo clicked outside the embassy. After validating your Passport, DS-160 confirmation and a photograph you go through security scan and then enter the interview room.

Visa Interview Questions

H1B (questions asked by visa officer@ window 4)

1) Asked for the passports and I-797
A- provided
2) Asked for the University I studied in US?
A- Confirmed the university name.
3) Who is your Employer?
B- Told him the employer name.
4) How long you have been working for your employer?
A- Last two years
5) Did your employer give you any letter? Can I see your employer letter?
A- Yes. Provided the employer letter.
6) Do you have any end client? What’s the name of your client? Can I see your client letter?
A- Yes. I work for state govt. provided the client letter.
7) Do you have a vendor in between your client and employer? Can I see your vendor letter?
A- Yes. Provided the vendor letter.
8) Is this a renewal or new H1B?
A- Renewal. My last visa stamping was with different employer.
9) What are your job duties?
A- Explained the job duties in few words.

V.O verified the employer, client and vendor letters and said your visa is approved and you will get your passports back in 3-5 business days. Interview lasted 2-3 minutes. Make sure to carry your employer, client and vendor letters with you.

Anyone going to Calgary for stamping around Sept 7th. If so, please let me know so that we can share the accommodation.

I will be travelling on Sept 1st and will be there till Sept 13th, I guess.

I am in need of your suggestion regarding H1B visa renewal stamping in Toronto, Canada.

I worked in US for company A from Jun-2008 to Aug-2011 on L1B visa. Then I went to India and got new H1B stamped. I am now working in US from Jan-2012 till date on the same visa but have switched from employer A to B in 2013. I also have I-140 approved from employer B.

Is it a good idea to go to Toronto for H1B visa stamping? We will have to travel to India in Nov-2016 and the visa wait time is 120 days in Chennai. So, I thought we could go to Canada and get visa stamped to avoid a stamping in India.

My highest education is B.E in ECE in India. I have about 11 years total work experience of which 8 years is in US.

Has anyone whose education degree is only from India got successfully visa stamped in Canada.

Hi, i have many questions and confusions regarding my first time h1b.
1) This is my first stamping as i got my h1b approval recently. would it be any problem if i go for stamping in Nov?
2)Can i go to Canada for my first time stamping or i have to go to india?
3) My employer is new and very small company, as i have filled the dual application and got an approval for my second employer (not current one), so technically , i will be working under him from 1st Oct'16, how many pay stubs would need ?
4) is it safe to go for stamping now or should i wait?

Here is my Itinerary

August 8th Morning
 9 AM started SanDiego Airport to San Ysidro Border (Uber - drive 25-30 mins , 35 $).
10 AM Border crossed (took around 30 mins - including walk and Mexico Port of Entry).
10:30 AM took cab to Hotel.(10$).
11:30 AM went to ASC Center and Fingerprints done.

August 9th
8 AM started to Consulate.
9 AM security check done and went inside.
9:15 AM Interview done.
9:45 took Uber and back to hotel.

August 10th
3 PM - Passport collected.
3:45 PM - Reached Border.
4:45 PM - Entered SanDiego.

Interview:
1: Still with YYYY company ? YES
2: Do you work for a Client ? YES
3: Highest Degree ? Master in CS at YYYY XX School.
4: Salary ? TOLD
5: Why Tijuana ? I told the wait time in India is 120 days.
6: She said Approved.
