H1B visa interview date at New Delhi Consulate
Hello everyone,
I am and Indian citizen and currently a resident of the United States and on H1B work visa currently which got approved 5 months back while I was on my student visa here in the US. I am visiting New Delhi (my native place in India) next week and would like to get my H1B visa stamped at the US consulate office in New Delhi.
I was constantly checking the interview dates and until yesterday (11/15) Dec 2nd was available for New Delhi and today (11/16) I am not able to see any dates for New Delhi consulate.
I am wondering is the New Delhi consulate not currently accepting dates for H1B visa in December or are the dates not yet released.

I would greatly appreciate if anyone has some insights into this matter.
Thanks very much

Hi, Can anyone share his/her visa interview experience at Delhi consulate and what are the chances of getting Visa approved. I had applied L1 Blanket earlier which was got denied by VO and at the same time he cancelled my 10 year valid B1/B2 visa and aksed me to apply through L1 individual or H1. My lawyers filed H1 petition which was approved. So can anyone let me know what are the chances of getting H1 visa this time. I have 4 year of experience in the same Co.

Thanks!

H1B VISA Approved @ Chennai Consulate Nov 14 2011
First i world like to thank immihelp and who all are shared the experiences...

I was reading this experiences for the past few months, So it has very clear vision about the visa stamping process in consulate.

This is my experience...

My interview scheduled on 8.15 AM and i reached chennai consulate on exactly 8.00AM 15mins before is more then enough as per the current process...

After that i asked the consulate security to which queue i can join. He asked me to wait little away from the consulate area. He will be calling the 8.15 batch members.

After few mins he called us and asked to join the queue where already people are proceeding to the security counter. (For H1B in chennai we have to go to the security counter beside anna fly over)

Once we submit the DS-160 Confirmation page and Appointment letter we can proceed inside the building and there document checking is happening.

After that we have to proceed to next counter where they are checking out BEP letter and i hope they will be providing the token number over there i guess (unfortunately that day token system is not working). Then finger prints taken in all ten fingers. Now we have to proceed to real Interview building.

Once i reach there. Consulate officers are helping to join the queue.

Here are the Questions.

VO: Hi, Good Morning
Me: Good Morning Mam

Passed my documents folder inside

VO: Your applying from YYYY company right (After reading my documents)
Me : Yes

VO: which place your going for
Me : City and State

VO: what is your highest qualification
Me: Answered

VO: Are you going to work in client location
Me: Yes

VO: Who is your client
Me: Answered

VO: What is your salary in $ per annum
Me: Answered - She verified the same with my petition

VO: How long your with your current organization
Me: Answered

That's it She was typing some thing in her system for a sec.

Told me Your visa got approved. We have some documentation work you will be receiving your passport with in a week....

For all this process it is exactly 45mins. I came out from consulate by 9.00am

Guys be confident and read your petition clearly before you PA

Don't bother about the thing happening around you at the time of interview.

All the best for every on attending the interview...

Once again thanks for immihelp to provide such service..

Thanks for immihelp and all people who shared the experience here post interview.

Here is my succesfull experience :

My interview was scheduled at 9:30 but I reached the consulate at 8:00.
Things have changed now they are following the timing and allowing as per the scheduled time before 15 minutes only.
Guys don’t go early to consulate just be there before 30 min...

I got in to consulate at 9:00 and collected the BEP folder....

Next Finger Prints on Counter number 9...
Wait time for interview is to much after getting the token number....

after 1.5 Hours of Wait and my turn for interview.

Here are the questions :

VO : You had L1B rejection recently?
Me: Yes
VO: did your company apply for L1A?
Me:No
VO:why your company applied for H instead of L1A?
Me: I don’t know that’s business level decision
VO: Ok that’s fine
VO: what your highest qualification
Me:xxx
VO: who is your end client
Me:xxxx
VO:who is your supervisor
Me:xxxx
VO:who is the employer for supervisor.
Me:xxxx

Then Golden Words Your VISA approved you will get your passport in a week.

Guys key is be confident and clear.........

One note for guys from Hyderabad make sure you visit Chilkur Balaji/VISA Balaji before interview....
Trust me it works....

Looks like having L1 rejected makes path clear for H1 :)

in front me one guy got rejected as he was not sure what he was talking.....

All the best for everyone attending VISA interview coming days…..

Successful H1B Stamping
Hi All,

I am glad to share H1B Visa Approval On November 10th at Chennai Consulate,

My Visa Interview time is 08:15 Am and I reached there one hour earlier. Security asked me to join the queue at 07:30 AM and person at the counter verified my DS160 Confirmation Letter and Interview Letter and I was given token number.

After Security checks, I waited inside the hall for my token number to get displayed on the screen. I waited for 2 minutes and my number got flashed and went to the respective counter. There, I gave my recent Visa Photocopy and my H1B petition documents (I129,I767B,LCA,Immigration Letter from SSI) and he put that in green file and asked me to wait for Finger prints.

Once Finger print check is done, I was asked to move to next building for Real Visa Interview – Real Challenge!!. I waited until my token number flashes, hardly 15 minutes, here it goes,

Me : Hello Sir, Good Morning! How are you?
VO : I m fine. Thank you. How about you?
Me : I am doing good. Thank You.(Smile)
VO : Can you pass your H1B petition.
Me : Sure.
VO : (He was reading my papers and meanwhile started asking me some questions). So your petitioner is ZZZ?(Smiled)
Me : Yes Sir.
VO : Who is your client?
Me : I said YYY
VO : So where you will work from?
Me : City,State.
VO : What will be your salary in US?
Me : YYYY $ per year.
VO : How long you are working with ZZZ?
Me : I will join YYYY company upon my H1B Visa Approval.
VO : He stared at me once and said Oh.ok.What is your highest education qualification?
Me : Answered
VO : Is this is the first time for you?
Me : Yes sir.
VO : What will be roles and responsibilities?
Me : Explained for 30 seconds(he muted the mike and started discussing with another lady – watching the screen )
I was eagerly waiting for his words. After one (long) minute, heard the magic words,
VO :YOUR VISA IS APPROVED .HAVE A SAFE JOURNEY.YOUR PASSPORT WILL BE COURIERED AND REACH YOU WITHIN 5 DAYS.
Me : I smiled at him and said “Thank you sir.Have a nice day”.

All the Best !!

221g Green Slip New Delhi Nov 4th
Living in US since : 2007
H1B holding company : American (Preffered Vendor) (270 Employees only 75 on H1, Gross Annual Income of company : 150million USD)
Visa transfered to this employer in Oct 2010 and valid till Jun 2013.
Work location of client and employer same : NYC
Got an approved I-140 through same employer. Also Homeland Security visited client location when GC process was started while still in US.

Came to Delhi and went for stamping on Nov 4th 2011.

Got 221g. VO kept 1-797/I-129, Client letter, Wife's Passport and her visa extension.
When I asked him what to expect next he said "The good news is you don't need to come back". He did not take any more documents even though I asked him if he needs anything else since I had everything. He just ticked the other option on 221g Green form and wrote "We are reviewing your case". Called department of state and they said its in admin review.

I am flying back on Nov 20th. What is the probability of getting the H1 in time.

Keeping my fingers crossed...
