F3 I-485 AOS experience - Houston
Hello,

This is my experience.

Father filed I-130 -> 2008 (F2B - unmarried adult child of greencard holder)
Approved --> 2010
Maintained status in USA on non-immigrant visa
Applied for AOS in USA with spouse in F3 category--> February 2020
Biometrics --> October 2020
EAD/AP for spouse --> Approved & received in Nov 2020
Case updated to "Ready to schedule interview" --> Dec 2020
EAD/AP self --> Approved & received in Feb 2021
Case again updated to "Ready to schedule interview" --> March 2021
Priority Date current --> June 2021
Case updated to "Interview was scheduled" --> 9/2/2021
Interview --> 10/5/2021
Case updated to "I-485 approved" --> 10/5/2021
Case updated again to "I-485 approved" --> 10/6/2021
Case updated to "Card mailed" --> 10/8/2021
Received the I-485 approval letter --> 10/9/2021

End of a 13 year process. In the 13 years, my case changed from F2B to F1 to F3. Spouse and I both had non-immigrant visas. We also have 2 toddlers under 3, and we took them with us to the interview.

Interview experience: Interview was in Houston and went quite well. Officer just reviewed information on I-485 particularly name, address, status, job, and yes/no questions. No questions about my parents or other family. My spouse had same questions and was also questioned about my name and when we got married. I did submit an updated tax return from my father. The officer just said that our cases would be placed under review and we will know very soon.

Good luck to anyone that is waiting.

Advice on Interview Reschedule
Good day everyone
I am reaching out to ask how the interview rescheduling works because I travelled out of the country on the 4th of October and I just received a notification that my interview has been scheduled and I ll receive a mail about the date.
Do I have to come back for the interview or will it be rescheduled automatically because I’m not in the country?

Processing Time
I posted this in the employment based platform but I just wanted to post here too.

I have been following the progress of the processing time for employment based I-485 cases. I wonder if some people have been contacted by uscis. I am outside of normal processing time but I haven’t heard anything
