Hi all,

My case is like a mystery...

I have attended my visa on 14th Dec in Mumbai, literally fought for 3 hours for visa , however i was still issued a white form, saying they will contact me once processing of my case is complete.

I am working for a telecom comp. thru a consultancy in mumbai.

I had a total of 3 rounds of interview
It went this way..

1st session: American VO

VO: HI
Me : hello, good mornin..

VO: So, since how long have you been staying in mumbai?
Me: past 7 months

VO: do, u have ur Mumbai driving license?
Me : Sorry , I have a licence which was issued in Hyd, also , in india we r issued only once and thts valid thru out india,

VO: Any other proofs?
Me: yes, i have a hdfc passbook with transactions of past 6 months, i have a lease agreement with my owner.

VO: can i c your payslips ?
Me : put payslips for the past 6 months in front of him incldg my offer letter.

He cheked them for few mins and asked me to wait, took those payslips and hdfc passbook and went inside and came after 5 mins,.

VO: There are only transactions of past 6 months , can i c the previous months ??

Me: This is my salary acc. and first pay was credited after a month i joined , so there r no transactions for the month i hav joined.

VO: Can you please wait, we shall call you back..
Me: I will wait in the lounge?

VO: yes
Me: Ok, thx

waited for 1:20mins and finally my name was called.

2nd session: Indian VO 1

IVO: Hi,
ME: hello

IVO: So, tell me your address?
Me : told

IVO: how do u go to ur office?
Me: told tht i wil catch a train at x stn.

IVO: wats the next station of x?
Me : told

IVO: wats the next stn.?
ME: told.

IVO: wats the next?
ME: told.

IVO: wats the next?
ME: told.
IVO: good.

IVO: how much is ur sal?
ME: told

IVO: ok, can u pls wait outside, we shall call u bak,
ME: OK
he came after some 15 mins

IVO: r u realy working?
ME : (SHOCKED)yes ofcourse Iam

IVO: please make sure u answer the truth, or else u might never get a chance to enter into the US and also this might lead to legal cases.. and end ur career..
Me: Y shud i lie? and more over y shud i stay in mumbai if im not working here. You can chek all the proofs tht i have shown u.

IVO: think again,, answer the truth, u mite loose a chance this time but mite still have a chance to reapply..or u will have to face sever consequences.
ME: wats happenin? Why shud i lie.. u can take it granted I AM WORKING HERE FOR XYZ COMP THRU AAA consultancy FOR THE PAST 7 MONTHS. and theres nothing to think again, U CAN TAKE THIS FOR GRANTED.

IVO: ok, can u pls wait outside .
Me: K

Now the final session 3 : IVO senior officer.

IVO : DO U THINK WE R FOOLS SITTING HERE?
ME: sir, wat r u saying i don understand , wats happenin?

IVO: thts wat im asking you, wats happenin? We have called your consltancy thrice and got no response. Tell us the truth , ru really working??
Me: I am unable to know y u got such a response but its true tht im working for XYZ thru this consultancy, if u want u can send someone with me physically and i will prove myself. U can as wel call my manager at XYZ comp and confirm.

IVO: wat do u do at XYZ comp?
ME: iam a sys admin there

IVO: wat do u do as a sys admin?
ME : blah blah

(He asked several tech ? as well, I was amazed. I answered thm) however, he took the white form by now and first opted 'other' and was bout to write something under this option)

IVO: Thn y is there no resonse frm this number?(showing DS form)
Me: sir , my comp has other numbers as well, pls try callin on any of these (me showing the offer letter)

IVO: this number on DS form is diff thn the once on ur offer letter,
Me : sir , tht mite b a typo , can u pls try callin on any of these ?
(by this time he unchekced the 'others' and reselected the first option in 221g)

IVO: the whole number cant be a typo..

Me : but still can u plz retry these numbers?
IVO: sorry, we have many other applicants wating for the interview.
You may leave now , we shall notify you later.

Then i left bein helpless..

I came out and my frnd told me i got call on my mobile frm my consultancy but he did not pik up. I called my employer and they said tht they got some calls enquiring bout me but the person on other side did not reveal his identity , so my consultancy people did not respond properly.. (This was the reason why VO was torturing me..)

Now ,, Im in a dillemaa.. wat to do? I am 100% genuine in all ways except tht my employer did not respond properly, which caused suspision in VO mind. Now , can some one guide me wat wud b the best course of action..???

Got H1 visa from Delhi Consulate
Hello Everyone,

I have been following this site for a few months now and i must say its been a great help.

I would like to share my experience with you all. I had my interview with US consulate delhi on 18th Oct at 10.30.

I joined the queue outside the consulate at 10.00 am. After the initial check up of my DS-157, DS-156, passport and HDFC receipt (and the I797) i was allowed to enter the consulate. I joined the queue for finger prints now.

Soon after it, i was directed to stand in queue number 3 where there was no one. There were other 2 queues with people waiting. One of the indian ladies told me to go to counter number 13 for my interview.

I was being interviewed by late 20 year old (indian american) lady.

Me: Good Morning

VO: No reply. She was busy talking to another lady inside after which she asked me "How did you come to know about XX (my company)?"

Me: Through dice.com

VO: How many employees?
Me: 80

VO: Whats your qualification?
Me: BSc Computer Science from XX university, UK.

VO: How many years?
Me: 4 yrs (including placement)

VO: Whats your role with the company?
Me: Explained. She nodded her head while looking at the computer screen.

VO: Confirmed the address of the company.

VO: What client you will be working with?
Me: I will be working on an in-house project.

VO: Does it have a name?
Me: Gave the name and explained a few lines on the project.

VO: Sir your visa is approved, you will get your passport through courier in the next few days.
Me: Thank you. Can i collect from VFS?

She gave me the contact details of VFS.

I left the consulate. She didnt asked for a single document.

The key points here are -

1. Dress to impress : Formal
2. Speak confidently and loudly. No need to put any accent but make sure they understand you.
3. Be relax and calm.

I was very nervous all the time until i saw the lady who was about to take my interview. I gained a bit of confidence just before then.

Best of luck to all of you.
Rahul.

Info regarding 221(g) -DropBox-Passport submittion
Hi,

I attended for visa interview on Nov5th at Chennai and they asked for some more documents from the employer and gave me the form 221(g) blue colour.

Now i got all the documents and about to submit them in the dropbox at Hyderabad(as advised in the form).
My doubt is about the passports. At the time of giving the 221(g) he told me dont submit your passports while submitting the documents at the drop box...But in the 221(g) form it has written that submit the passport.

So, what should i do...Do i need to submit my passport as it was given in the paper...OR do i follow the words told by the visa counsellor???

if i follow the visa counsellor words and did not submit the passports...then how to get the stamping on my passport???
if i submit the passport as it was mentioned in the form221(g)..will it be a problem???

I got H1B on 6th Dec 2007 morning 8.45 batch
I got H1B on 6th Dec 2007

I want to tell one thing to you all... somebody may already know this. On 5th Dec 07 only I came to know about BEP (Business Executive Program), If your employeer is BEP then you know need to carry any tax or wags papers because your employeer directly submitting all those to them.

1) On 6th Dec 2007 I woke up at 5.30 and got ready for the interview. Because i was already in Chennai for two year and i know how much time it will take from my friends room (Saithapet) to Anna flyover. I started at 7.30 AM.
2)I went by auto (Rs. 70) and I reached embassy before 8.20 and in the queue only 4 or 5 people only there so I jointed with them (In the queue they are allowing people only, who is having interview before half an hour appointments only).
3) Entered into embassy and they asked me to wait in the queue (for initiall check up and arranging the doucments) only 4 or 5 peoples only in front of me for check all the documents. My employeer already arranged that and gave it to me. so not much for me.
4) Then entered into the second building there is a very big queue i was joint in the queue.
5) they have taken my finger impressions
6)The next queue is the real interview queue. I was in that queue many people were there for both student, H1 and other visa. Most of the people got there visa.
7)When my turn comes i was infront of the offier
  a) Me:"Good morning"
   b) VO: Yes good morning.
  c) Me: How are you?
  d)VO: fine. How r u?
  e) Me: Fine thanks.
  f) Me: I passed the folder
  g) VO: He opend and asked only 3 questions
  h) Vo: Where are you going?
  i) Me: I am going to NJ
  k) VO: Who is your client and what they are dong?
l)Me: xxx they are into x YYYY
  m) Vo: Are you going to work in Client place or inhouse
  n) Me: In house project.
  o) VO: Thanks. Your visa approved it will come to you.
I got my visa in the next day itself.

Thanks for www.immihelp.com

Note: If your employeer is BEP don't worry just you go you will get it.
Regards
Raj
