Additional L1B Fee
There is an additional fee for H and L from Nov 20th onwards. Pls have a look at the VFS website for more details

This new fee's is in place after Obama signed a bill in August (public Law 111-230). You may or may NOT have to pay depending upon the following clause in the law

"These additional fees apply to petitioners with more than 50 employees in the United States and with more than 50 percent of those employees in H-1B or L (including L-1A, L-1B, and L-2) status."

If you firm does not fall under above criteria, pls have supporting documents on why this is not required.

Hope this helps

Questions to me

1. What is your project?
2. Have you travelled to US before? When?
3. Why you are going for this assignment?
4. Did you get any training on your specialized skill? Can you explain more about that?
5. To whom you will be reporting to?

Questions to my wife

1. When did you get married?
2. How did you know him?

Thats it. Our Visas are approved.

I would like to share my experience of how the DS160 form mistakes can be handled after the interview is scheduled. I actually made some silly mistakes while filling the DS160 form, which I only came to know a day before the interview. As per my company's visa processing department advise, I submitted a new DS160 form again, and provided the new confirmation letter during the Interview. During the document verification process, I was asked why there is a change in the confirmation number as against the one printed in appointment confirmation letter. Then I explained that I made some typo mistakes and thats why submitted the form again. They accepted the reason. In case, if any of you are facing any similar situations, don't be panic, this is one acceptable option available. Good Luck!

L1B Visa - On Hold (Chennai)
Hi Guys,

I had my L1B visa interview scheduled 2day @ Chennai Consulate @ 10.00 AM but i got my chance of meeting VO only by 12.30PM. He saw my company name, verified my Petition document & asked me "Do u have a letter from ur employer regarding $2250 Security Fee?" i said, "I don't have any letter for the same." Then the VO officer said, "Go back and get a letter from your employer regarding this and come back any time (Tues,Wed & Thurs only). You don't want to re-schedule your interview again."

I came to my office and reported the same and even my company is also little confused about it. Guys, if anyone of you had the same problem, please let us all know how you managed to solve this?
