FYI - Any teacher subject to the presidential proclamation (covid travel ban) will be unable to obtain their US visa as long as the ban is in place.
Despite being granted with an expedited visa appointment, I attended my J1 embassy appointment today in London, along with several other teachers, and our visas were refused.
The only bright side is that we don't have to re-apply and go through the process again; instead, once the travel ban is lifted, our visas will be immediately granted once we drop off our passports at the embassy.
I have come on a J2 visa last year and got a work permit last month. I have good working experience in India in the IT industry. I am applying for several jobs here but they either do not know about this visa or skeptical to take them. Some jobs require only H visas. Is there any restriction on hiring J2 visa holders? My visa is valid for 4 years.
