I found this forum very helpful over the past year as I worked my way through the permanent residency process. Below is a timeline for my application, which I hope may be a useful reference point. My overall advice is keep a positive attitude, persevere, and always follow instructions and deadlines from USCIS to the letter.

6/26/2016 I-485, I-140 (EB1A), I-765, I-131 received (Nebraska Service Center)
8/2/2016 EAD (1-year validity) issued
8/11/2016 Biometrics taken
7/11/2017 EAD renewal application filed
8/18/2017 RFE for I-140 issued (required a lot of work to address issues)
9/20/2017 New EAD (2-year validity) issued
11/14/2017 RFE reply for I-140 received
1/20/2018 I-140 approved
3/2/2018 RFE for I-485 (redo medical, incomplete I-485 form)
4/5/2018 RFE reply for I-485 received
4/10/2018 I-485 approved
4/17/2018 Green Card mailed
4/21/2018 Green Card received
