Got my L1B Approved
I attended in Chennai.

My company is listed in BEP and my company asked me to display my ID when I attend the interview. First at the entrance my documents were verified and I was given a token number. I went inside the consulate. Next, they screened for secuiry checks and let me in. I was waiting for my turn according to the token no. When my turn came, I was called. I went and showed my BEP folder which had all the documents. The person who was in that counter took a the DS-160 form copy and directed me to another counter to take my finger prints. I gave my finger prints and I was asked to leave to the next block. In the first counter in that block, they took the DDs and asked me to wait for my turn in the next counter which was for the visa interview. I waited and my token number was called, I went to the counter.

When I arrived in the counter, the visa officer (A nice lady :-)) greeted me with a smile and said “good morning”. I said “Hi Officer, good morning” with a good smile on my face.

She started asking me the following question:

1. Why you are going to the US?
I am going to the US for ABC project for my client – XYZ Company

2. What would be your role in the US?
My role would be YYYY (I told my designation)

3. What would be your activities in this role?
My activities will be requirement analysis, test strategizing, test designing, test scripting and designing test suite using SOAP UI for validating web services that integrates ABC and XYZ applications.

4. What is your specialization?
I am specialized in designing test suite using SOAP UI for validating XML based web services.

5. Why only you from offshore are going to the US?
Three of us attended a training for this tool together for our project. The other two have left the organisation, so I have got my chance

6. So are you the only one in the company itself who knows the tool?
No “I am the only one in the project” I said

7. Is there any dependant who will be joining you in the US later?
No, I am the only one.

She smiled and said “I approve your visa”
I said “Thank you very much officer” with a big smile.
She said “You’ll get your passport stamped in 4 working days.
I thanked again, said “bye” and left the counter.

I attended my interview on June 14th 2011 and I have got my passport today- 16th Jun 2011
