Hi,
I had my appointment on 26 Nov for L1 Blanket. I was asked to produce and additional fee of $2250 as Border Security fee. I had the drafts in denominations of Rs. 50,000 (2 nos) and Rs. 3,500 (1 no). The consulate did not accept these multiple drafts and asked me to get it in one single draft or to get the justification letter from the company on why this fees needs to be waived off.
I have to revist the consulate by taking one single draft next week.
Did anybody else had the same experience? I also read that, along with this fee, one guy was asked for justification letter as well.
To be frank, the officials within the embassy (who do the processing on the outside) are also not clear on this border security fee as this is in action only since Nov 20.
