L1, L2 Visa

Hello All,

I had my L1 blanket visa interview on 11th of July at Delhi; this is my second time appearing for L1 visa at US Embassy. First time it was held at Chennai and this time due to the busy schedule at Chennai consulate I had been appread at Delhi Consulate. I would like to thank everyone involved in this site for the wonderful help and who ever share their experiences.

My Interview was scheduled at 07:45AM and I reached by 07:00, after Security Check, I was asked to stand in a line where the VFS guy help you to arrange the documents in the proper order. After I submitted the documents at the counter I was asked to sit inside the lobby...While sitting in the lobby I was wondered that many people carrying their hand baggage inside. We can carry our bags and we can also deposit our cell phones with security and can collect back once we are done with the interview.

After I entered the lobby I was asked to wait for few minutes till my documents reached them after verifying the DD's. After that I had to get my fingers scanned. Then they asked me to stand in Queue Number 3, I had to wait for 20min.

As I standing in Queue...I observed that most of them getting there visas approved and few got rejected. The lady VO was very friendly looking and very polite.

Now it's time for My Interview :)

Me - Hello Maam...How are you doing today?
VO - good, Thanks. Well we will start with your Fingerprints (asked me to put my fingers on scanner) - Finger Prints scanning has been done.
VO - How long you have been with the Company?
Me - XX Months
VO - Which visa you applied for?
Me - L1 Blanket
VO - Who is your Client?
Me - XYZ Company
VO - What's your client into?
Me - Explained about my client business profile in 2 sentences.
VO - Is this your Second L1 visa?
Me - Yes
VO - How many times you have traveled to US?
Me - X Times.
VO - Do you have any other visas..?Any Business Visas (She checked my passport to verify the other visas)
Me - Nope.
VO - What is your Project?
Me - Explained about the project...in 3 to 4 sentences
VO - What are your specialized skills?
Me - Explained about my specialized skills in regard to my current project. In about 3 to 4 sentences.
VO - Is any one travelling with you?
Me - Nope..My team has been already in US...I need to join with them on X date.
VO - How many people do you manage? (Tricky)
Me - Well. I don't manage any People...I am a functional manager I will manage the Project life cycle.
VO - Fine....I am APPROVING your visa you will receive it by courier.
Me - Thank you Maam...You have a nice day.
VO - you too:)

My visa got APPROVED and I walked out from the consulate by 09:30AM....One and Only sugession is NO Nervousness on your face...be prepared to answer about your project and your specilized skills. Proper documentation read the job description given in your documentation.
