L1 visa approved
Hi All,

I attended the visa interview on 1st october 2012. I had my interview earlier scheduled on 20th september but it got cancelled due to the agitations at the consulate. Had to again schedule the interview and this time it got more painful had to travel for 2 times. 1 for biometrics and another for PA. I cud not get appointments on consecutive days so had to travel back and forth between BLR-CHN since a weekend had come in between the two appointments.

Biometrics just took 10 mins but had to travel 700 km to&fro just for this.... :-(

Now coming to the PA on 1st october, i had the appointment @ 8AM reached the consulate around 7.10 hoping i cud also be allowed along with first batch which was @ 7.30 but had to wait and was allowed inside around 7.40 after the security checks.

Next was the token issuance, documents arrangement and fingerprint counters which were done quite fast.

But when i went to the second building there was a big crowd waiting and the hall was almost full had to wait for around 45 -50 mins to have my turn. There were only 4 windows open at that time i think that was the reason for some sluggishness in the movement.

Once my token was called went to the designated counter.

Greeted the VO with a smile and a cheerful GM, handed over the documents to him. Standard questions were asked what other people have mentioned in the forum. The key point is to convince the VO that you have a specialization which cud not be replaced by someone there directly in the US. So please prepare something around that and make sure you express it clearly to the VO in layman terms preferably without getting to technical / specifics.

VO was friendly and tried to keep me comfortable at all times. Interview was around 3-4 mins i guess..

Finally he told the visa was approved and i wud get the passport in 3-4 days.

Headed straight to the premium delivery service counter filled in the form paid 300 extra and came out relieved.

But still not yet got the passport in hand... :-(

The tracking status is always shown as "passport in transit" for the past 3 days and hoping to get it soon and start my trip atleast next week...
