L1A and L2
I had L1-A appointment at 9.45 A.M. I reached the consulate at 9.15 A.M along with my wife and kid. The consulate does not allow you to carry baby food or water. You will be asked to keep all these things outside the gate or you can keep it in a nearby store.
It allows you to carry milk but one of the parents needs to taste it in front of the security.

Once inside, we showed our documents to the VFS guy. She quickly verified the forms DS156/157 for all of us and asked us to pay the L1-Blanket Fee draft. After paying the fees, we went back to the VFS lady. She verified the receipt given by the cashier and sent us to the actual VFS counter.
The guy here took the BEP folder, DS156/157, passports, I129S and I797 forms. He verified everything in the documents and kept entering data for records. He then asked us to complete our finger printing. No finger printing was done for my 11 month old kid.

Once done with this, we were asked to proceed to the interview counter. Since we had a kid, we were not asked to take a token and wait.
The interviewer was polite and asked quite a few questions as she kept reading my DS156/157 forms.
VO: Whos the client?
Me: XYZ
VO: Is the project in-house?
Me: Yes
VO: How long have you been working with XYZ company?
Me: A yrs and B months
VO: Whats your current salary?
Me: XYZ Rs.
VO: Why do you want to go to US? What’s your specialization?
Me: Answered with whatever was written in my I129S and supporting letter. Also stated that will be there as a people manager.
VO: What will be the size of the team?
Me: X
VO: Will they travel with you? Or will they be hired there?
Me: No for first one and yes for the other.
VO: Is B.E. Bachelors in Engineering?
Me: Yes
VO: Whats your total industry experience?
Me: Y years and M months
Thats all and then i heard – “ everything looks good and you will get your passports and documents in a week’s time”

No questions for my wife. We were out by 10.30.

Recommendations:
Pl be honest and do not lie about anything.
Read your petition papers well.
Carry all the documents asked for. Your interview appointment sheet will have the list. In case your company provides its own list- do carry those documents too.
Dress formally.
Don’t worry much about rejection.
