L1A Blanket experience, Chennai
Hi,

I had my L1A visa stamping today and it was pretty smooth and positive experience. I went with my wife and 15 months old son.

Mine was 9 o clock appointment and I reached the embassy by 8.10
We immediately joined the queue and was sent inside for security check. My wife carried toys and eatables for my son. All toys were thoroughly checked and the eatables were asked to be tasted.

After finger printing and DD verification we were asked to wait outside a counter. The questions asked to me are as below:

VO: Good Morning. Documents please.
ME: Good morning. How are you? (Handed over the documents)
VO: I am fine Thank you.
VO: Which company you work for?
ME: ZZZ
VO: How long you work for this company? (Dint hear properly and asked to repeat the question)
ME: 5 years
VO: What is your role?
ME: Associate Manager
VO: Who do you report to?
ME: Mr. X, who is the delivery manager.
VO: How many direct reportees?
ME: 4 at offshore and 3 at onshore
VO: How many indirect employees?
ME: 17 at offshore and 20 at onshore
VO: What are your roles and responsibilities?
ME: Explained in 5 short sentences (roles include managing a division, supervising tech archs and developers, hiring, budget allocation etc.)
(By this time VO started stamping the document)
VO: Where will you be working from? client or your company location?
ME: Client location
VO: Where will your manager be located?
ME: Same location
(He passed a slip through the slot for me)
VO: What is the duration of your stay?
ME: 1 year
VO: What would be your salary?
ME: 90k $
VO: Mam (to my wife) now to you, What is your highest qualification?
Wife: Bachelor of Engg
VO: Thanks, You can collect your passports later. Your visa approved.

I have close to 11 years experience with 3 years managerial experience. I would suggest preparing crisp answers for the known questions, so that we don't stumble.
All the best!
