L1A Blanket - Rejected
Hi All,

I was told and also read somewhere that PM's can no longer vouch for L1A's. It was proved right when I heard from the horses mouth, i.e the VO.

1. VO: Hi Good Morning
     Me : Hey Hi.

2. VO: May I have your documents please.
    Me: Sure, please.. (handed over)

3. VO: So you going to work with "CLIENT_NAME"
    Me: Yes

4. VO: Your Indian Salary ?
    Me : Told

5. VO: Your US salary ?
    Me: Told

6. You going as a PM ?
     ME: Yes

7. VO: (Took a while typing and doing stuff)
Me: I sensed something is wrong

8. VO: So you will be reporting to the engagement / Program Mgr there ?
    Me: I said Yes

9. VO (finally) : Sir, there is no problem with you or your documents, everything is perfectly fine, but let me tell you that L1A's is for very senior designations and people. I cannot approve you document in this category, please apply on a different category, I am giving you this document, please give it to your manager and he will understand. Project Managers do not come in the category of L1A's. I am sorry.
Me: I was stumped, and fine, who cares, I anyway wasnt that keen, but it hurts when you are rejected X-( !!

So in short, think twice before going for L1A as PM. Engagement managers, Program Managers, and Business Development Managers, go ahead !
