L1B Visa Experience
Hi friends,

I would like to share my L1B visa experience with you. I had my interview at Hyderabad Consulate on 13th April at 8:00 AM and happy to tell you all that my Visa has been approved.

It was preferable to reach Visa office 30 minutes early. I reached at 7:20AM but the security people allowed me to enter inside after 7:45AM only because usually interview process will start after 8AM only. Remember that the whole process will take 2 hours.

As soon as you entered inside, first you need to complete initial prescreening, then you need to submit the DD’s at the cash counter. After that, you will be directed to finger print division. Once your finger prints are captured, you need to go to interview waiting lobby and wait for your turn. For me, as soon as i entered the lobby, they sent me for an interview.

At the interview counter, there is no big queue. They told me that only 2 people will wait at a time. I waited there for around 7-10mins and finally its my turn to give an interview. VO asked me the following questions:

1.Where are you working now?
2.How long have you been working with this current employer?
3.In which project you are working?
4.What this project is all about?
5.What is the purpose of your visit?

Then he signed on my I129 papers. On his copy, he wrote as Approved. Then he asked me “Why you only have been selected from your project?”

And that’s it. VO told me that my visa has been approved and I will get my passport within 1 week time.

Few things which I want to tell you guys is be confident on your answers and maintain good eye contact with the VO. Remember that your answers should be as per your documents and at any cost, don’t confuse the VO. If you didn’t understood VO’s question, there is no wrong in asking them to repeat. Don’t give irrelevant and lengthy answers.

There are some myths that people who have good experience and communication skills only will get their visas approved. That is completely wrong. I have only 1.5 years of experience. Mainly they will see how confident you are.
So guys and gals, be cool and confident. You will get your fruit. All the best.
