Successful interview EB1 ROW San Fernando Valley, CA
Had our interviews this morning in San Fernando Valley, CA field office, very pleasant. Got approved, but EB-1a is not current for ROW, so will have to be patient until we receive the cards.

Interview scheduled for 7:15am. We arrived at 6:35am, had a small queue for the security check (take off belts, jewels, shoes, take phone and other electronics out of bags, put all in the same box ... similar to TSA check at airport). Then was sent to the big waiting room on the right, and had to put the invitation i-797s in a box at booth 3. Waited for @ 45 minutes to be called to booth 3, where the officer gave us the name of the officer for the interview and a number ticket (was #13, my lucky number). Another 20 minutes of wait time "our" officer called out "M13" and we followed him to his office, where he had prepared the four chairs (I was with my three teen-age children). Straight away he announced that this would be short and easy, as everything was looking good. He told us about retrogression and that he believed in about two months the EB-1 category should be current again. We discussed some other topics of interest (if my daughter would like to do a year of studies in the UK, when should we inform USCIS? Would I lose my German passport if I apply for US citizenship in five years? ...). The only document he requested was my passport, checked last entry date. Then asked for current address and whether I wanted to receive the cards at home or at our mailing address. Then asked whether I am still married. Then asked the only Yes/No question about "criminal activity", we all four replied at the same time "no".

That was it !

Got a personalised letter stating "your i-485 interview is complete. However, your priority date is not current at this time. Your case will be transferred to the National Benefits Center (NBC) until your priority date becomes current. Once your priority date becomes current, the NBC will make the final decision on your case."
