L1B Blanket Visa Approved on Dec 20th Chennai Consulate
Hello Everyone,

Wanna thank this forum which helped me lot in my interview preparations.

My visa got approved today morning and i'm so excited and would like to share my experience here.

I had both OFC appointment and Consulate interview on same day at 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM respectively.

I reached OFC office @ 7:30 AM and there was a normal queue. People who has appointment at 8:00 AM were given first preference. Staff over there will help for document verification, finger print scanning and other formalities. All are Indian staffs and the overall process went very smooth and will not take more than 30 minutes.

Then i reached to US Consulate at 8:30 AM and again there was a very normal queue. No electronics items will be allowed inside the consulate. But there is paid deposit counter at the entrance of the consulate where you can keep them safely and it will just cost your Rs.10. (Try your best to avoid bringing them because there is long queue for this deposit and will eat up some of your time).

Once entered, there will be formal security check . Then ,there will be a separate queue specifically for L1 Blanket and they will help us arranging the document in the order in which it has to be submitted. Then it comes DD and payment verification and they will give your the acknowledgment receipt for the payment. And another 2 queues for few more minor formalities and then finally it comes our final interview queue.

My turn comes for the Visa interview . I went with my spouse.

VO : Good Morning Mam
ME : Good Morning Sir

VO : Give me your documents and passport please.
ME : Passed on my already arranged documents(3 sets of I-129S & I797 , Payment receipt acknowledgment , Passports))

VO : Which company do you work for?
ME : Told my company name

VO : Would you be working from Client location or Parent Company ?
ME : I will be working from Client location

VO : Who is your client?
ME : Told my client name

VO : Where is your client location ?
ME : Told the client location

VO : How long would you be staying in US ?
ME : It will be 2 to 3 years

VO : What would be your US salary?
ME : I told my salary

VO : Which L1 category you applied for?
ME : Its L1 B Blanket

VO : So tell me about your specialization ?
ME : Explained my specialization in 2 to 3 lines.

VO : So you told that you have developed this tool. How long it took to develop this tool ?
ME : It took around 8 months for me to develop.

VO : So why would you need to travel to Client place now ? Why it cant be done from India?
ME : Told him the reason to travel to client location.

To my Spouse:

1) When do you get married?
2) Do you have kids?

Then VO stamped my petition documents as approved and said " I am approving your visa . Here is your 2 copies of I-129S one you will have to handover to your HR and another to carry during your travel . Have a good day "
I became very excited and thanked him twice.

Complete interview just took around 5 mins.

My tips:

Be confident .
Have a very crisp and to the point answers.
Dress code is not very strict. Wear whichever you are comfortable with.
Have a smile on your face while facing VO though VO will be very busy with their system and hardly has direct eye contact.

All the very best . Good luck guys !! :)
