NIW EB2 - is interview mandatory?
Hi,
I am asking regarding the new policy of extending in-person interviews to include EB applicant (https://www.uscis.gov/news/news-releases/uscis-to-expand-in-person-interview-requirements-for-certain-permanent-residency-applicants).
The article says it is effective on October 1 2017. Does this means it will applied to people who’s PD is after this date or anyone who is still pending?
All the people that I know who applied for NIW EB2 did not go to interview. I just got our EAD/AP cards and I planning for a vacation during Christmas. I’m afraid they might ask us to show for an interview while we are out of the country!
Here is my timeline:
Jan 2017: I-140 submitted
May 2017: I-140 approved
Jun 2017: I-485, I-765, I-131 submitted
Oct 2017: EAD/AP card received
Nov 9 2017: I-485 update => “your case has been transferred to another service center”
Please let me know. My wife is planning to spend 3 month outside US.
