Hi,

I wanted to share my experience as this site has helped me so much.

I went to the new Embassy in Nine Elms and took the tube to Vauxhall and walked as its easier, about a 10 minute walk and easy to locate the Embassy as its clearly sign posted, theres a Waitrose round the corner where you can have a coffee if your'e early.

You queue to get in the Embassy and they checked my DS-160 and passport and then you go through airport style security and walk into the Embassy where they scan the DS-160 and give you a number on a sticker which they stick on the DS-160, this is your appointment number.

You go up to the first floor and wait in a large modern seating area where there are screens every where showing the appointment numbers, when yours shows up (it doesnt take long) the number also appears above the booth window.

The booth is a little open sound proof booth so no-one can hear what the guy/lady is saying to you which helps as i didnt want to hear other interview experiences.

I needed a current photograph of myself as the one i took was a year old, no problem though as there are two photobooths in the waiting area and they take debit and credit cards as well as cash

After i visited the first booth the man asked me for my documents and typed a bit, asked for my i-797 and i said i had an i-797C and the original, he said i dont know why your attorney sent the C version and then put everything into a folder for me and told me to go to the other end of the waiting area and wait for my number to be called to see the American consulate, it was the same style booth and it took around 2 minutes to be seen, the American consulate took my folder and typed a little as he asked the questions.

The questions asked where:

What is your job title?
What is the name of your company?
What do they do, as ive never heard of them? - I explained the company and product breifly
What is that product? - I explained breifly

It was more of a chat that an interview and very relaxed, the anxiety of the interview was far worse than the interview itself and both staff members i saw were very relaxed and professional

He then said 'your passport will be returned within a week'

It was very straight forward and vert well organised, hope this helps someone else.

Derek
