Green card Interview status has not changed
My husband and i had our green card interview on 09/14/2018 at the Columbus OH office. The interview was at 10:00am and my husband (principal applicant) and i thought we would be called in together for the interview, however he was called in first. His interview lasted for all of 20 mins and the IO officer did not ask him for any documents. Of course we had taken every document we thought would be required, however the officer was not interested in any of that, instead he went through the 485 form and asked about 5 yes/no questions. He told my husband, it was a pretty straight forward case and there was nothing else that was required from him. He explained the whole process and said that due to the retrogression, he could not approve our case on the spot and he would have to wait till October 2nd to approve his case. He gave us a slip of paper where it was mentioned, that the interview was complete and they did not require any documentation from us and they would make a decision soon. Then it was my turn, I went in at 10:20AM... and again he did not ask for any documentation, Just asked the Yes/no question. i had to correct a date which was incorrectly updated, he did that and that was it. He told me the same thing he told my husband and gave me the same piece of paper which said the same thing abt the interview being complete. the officer told us that once the dates go current he would approve and change the status. He specifically said October 3rd, 2018. He told us he was not going to send our file to NBC as by the time it reached there, the dates would be current and they would have to send it back to him. SO he was going to keep our files and approve the case. By that evening our status changed to INterview was completed and my case must be reviewed. Now TODAY is the 10/07/2018 and there has been NO change to that status, which is very frustrating as he said he would have it changed and not being done yet. I am wondering if he has forgotten about our files or i am not even sure what to think.. we have waited a long time for this whole process and finally we thought we would get it and its still not done yet. I am wondering if we have to wait for 120 days before we can ask for an info pass or can we get our lawyers to speak to the officer before that??? Anyone else experiencing the same issue. It would be a real shame, if he just forgot to go check on our files.
