L1 A Visa Interview Experience
Biometric
The biometric appointment was very simple and there was no issue. They asked for biometric (10 fingers) of my spouse and myself only. They did not take biometric for my daughter as she is not yet 14 years. They took snaps of all three of us.

Visa Interview
. For the Visa interview we were at the US Consulate at 10 AM as my visa interview was scheduled at 10.45 AM. Waited in the road for half an hour and at 10.30 AM they asked us to form a line and at sharp 10.45 AM they asked us to enter the consulate
. At entrance we had a security check, they did not allow any electronic devices including analog watches
. Post security check, as we entered the next room, they asked about my Visa type and I mentioned that it was L1 A Individual Visa. There was a long queue, but they asked us to skip the queue and enter the opposite building
. As we went to the opposite building, they asked me again about my Visa type and there again they checked my passport and finger prints. Post that they asked us to go to the lobby where there was another queue.
. When we went to the lobby, they asked us for my visa type and when I mentioned that it was L1 A Visa type, they asked us to skip the queue again and stand in the front of the line
. At the front of the line an executive asked us to go to a counter for the interview.
. We were next in line and there was another candidate (student visa going through her interview)
. The student visa was approved after a round of questions
. When our turn came, we went to the counter with a greeting and the lady on the other side was quite pleasant in her discussions
. She asked me to provide our passports and i797 petition documents
. Below are set of questions asked:
Are you applying for L1 A Visa?
Is YYYY Corporation your employer?
What do they do?
How long have you been working with ZZZ?
Are you an Associate Director?
What is your highest degree of qualification?
What is your salary in US?
How many Direct Reports?
How many In-Direct Reports?
Whom have you brought with you today?

At this point I introduced by wife and daughter to her and she asked two questions to them. They are:
How long have you been married? – Question to my wife
How many you children do you have? – Question to me
How old are you? – Question to my daughter

Post that she typed few things on her computer and mentioned that my Visa is approved.
