Hello everyone,
This forum has been great source to keep a tab on the green card pipeline. It's time for me to give back to the community.
We have waited a little over 2 grueling years and got stuck in 2 retrogressions before our status changed last week.
Background --
Application Type - EB1B + NIW
Country of Birth - India
Application Filed at - Nebraska Service Center
No interview required
Timeline --
PD - December 02, 2016
Filing date for I-485 - January 14, 2017
I-485 Approval date - Feb 12, 2019
Cards sent for printing - Feb 12, 2019
Cards mailed to us - Feb 14, 2019
Cards in hand (or will be in hand) - Feb 21, 2019 (tomorrow)
Things to note --
(1) The USCIS website (
https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do) did not show any updates on our last week. The USCIS DHS website (
https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov) showed the status update for case approval and then card printing. I would recommend that you all create accounts on both sites.
(2) Now, even though we got an update saying that the cards were mailed to us on Feb 14 (Thursday), they were not picked up by USPS until yesterday (Tuesday of following week). Not sure what caused the delay.
(3) This time, the USPS update with the tracking number update showed up on USCIS' website and nothing changed on USCIS DHS' website.
This has been a pretty long process for us but I am sure there are others who have to go through a much longer wait. Good luck!
I'd be happy to answer any questions that you might have.
