First of all, thank you everyone in this forum. Experiences posted here helped greatly in my preparation.
Timeline:
Petition Submitted through Premium Processing: 3rd week of Jan 2019
Petition Approved: last week of Jan 2019
Service Request raised for correction: 1st week of Feb 2019
Service Request Completed: last of Mar 2019
Visa Bio-metrics: 1st week of May 2019
Visa Interview: 11th Jun 2019 (along with spouse and 5-year-old kid)
My Visa Appointment is at 8:30 AM and I reached US Consulate at around 8:15 AM. By that time, they started letting in people for 8:30 slot.
After security check, we wait for 10 minutes for Bio-metric check. After Bio-metric check, we were asked wait in waiting hall for 10 minutes. From waiting hall, they allowed us into a queue… where Visa Officer counter will be allocated. We moved to counter based on allocation.
Below are the questions to me:
1. How long have you been working with current Employer?
2. What is your highest qualification?
3. What are your responsibilities?
Below are the questions to my spouse:
1. How long have you been married?
2. What’s your child age and single child?
VO asked us to go to Counter 6 to submit photograph of Kid and come back. We submitted and came back to VO. VO checked something in system and said… I am approving your visa and you are good to go!
Tips:
Speak confidently
Maintain eye contact
Dress well. Formal shirt, pant and shoes should be fine.
