First of all Thanks for this great forum. Adding my experience.

After the initial security checking and document verification, I was led to the building for interview. I could see many rejections at the counters, but I kept saying that "L1 is not the end of the world".

I was led to the counter where the VO is a beautiful lady. Before me, there was an H4 stamping for a family having 2 kids. So she was in good mood chatting with them:)Next is Me..

VO: Good Morning Ma'am, How are you?
Me: Good Morning, I am good, How are you?

VO: How many years of experience do you have?
Me: x years y months

VO: With YYYY Company?
Me: I joined with YYYY company and so my total experience is same as with ZZZ.

VO: Which all clients you worked with in ZZZ?
I was about to start and she got distracted. So she started with another question

Vo: What is your specialization?
Me: (I was observing her while i was in the queue and understood that she wants brief answers. But i wanted to make my points clear. So quickly told the two points) I am specialized in YYYY proprietery tools AAA,BBB,CCC. Also I am an expert in the project which I am going to work in US as I have worked on the architecture design and framework development of this project.

Vo: Why you? Why not someone else?
Me: I am going to work on the next phase of the project which I am working on currently working at Offshore. Requires an expert in the current system at onsite.

Vo: What is name of your project?
Me : LKMNOP

Vo: Who is your client?
Me: YYY

Vo: Your visa is approved and you will get .... ( i couldnt hear the latter part as i was at cloud 9)...
Me: Thank You Ma'am

Tips:

1) The most important point is "BE CONFIDENT". I have read it many times in this forum but couldnt believe that confidence will help a lot. But My experience proved it to me.

2) Ladiess.., Please Please Please try to be in formals. I have seen many ladies coming as if they are going for some marriage function. I have seen them returning with passports (I guess its coz their visa got rejected.). I wont say dressing in formals will surely give you visa, but it will give a first impression on how serious you take the interview.

3) Go through atleast 10 pages in this forum. (I had gone though 70 :)) and note down as many questions as possible. WRITE DOWN answers for those questions and prepare well. Dont stammer while answering. Be precise while answering, coz the interview will be only for 2-3 mins and you have prove that you are the best within that time.

4) 5 important questions you should be preparing well are:
a) What is your specialization?
b) Why You? Why not someone else?
c) What is your project?
d) How will implementing this project help the client?
e) What are your roles at onsite?
5) Do couple of mock interviews with friends/family. Think of all possible questions from the answers. Like if the question is "What is the team size?". You say 1 onsite and 5 offshore. Then you will have to prepare an answer for this question also "They why cant the person at onsite do the job. Y should you go?"

Finally, have faith in God and yourself. I read in this forum that Chilkur Balaji helps and went there. He helped me too :).

Some quotes from the forum which made me cool during waiting time at consulate:
"Be confident, cool and calm"
"India is a great place to work and live. So even if you dont get visa, dont worry, you are living in a wonderful country"

All the best!!!
