L1/L2 Individual Visa Approved 10/29/2013 Mumbai
Hello,

First of all, I really would like to thank each and every one who have contributed to this forum and have shared their experiences. Just reading your experiences have given me a mental strength to face my interview :).

My L1B was rejected last year in August 2012 with a reason stating that its not clearly approved under section 221(g).

This year, my employer filed for my L1 Individual petition in July 2013 under Premium Processing. Petition received RFE at the end of July 2013 :). Worked a lot on the RFE document preparation, supporting materials and finally on October 7, 2013, I was informed that my petition is now approved.

On 10/28/2013, our fingerprints and photo related tasks were completed at OFC center. At that time we availed for Stars and Stripes lounge services by paying 400 Rs. per person.

On 10/28/2013, I had my personal interview along with my spouse and son. If you are planning to attend interview with your family, I would strongly recommend to utilise lounge services (though they take 400 per person, best part was we didnt had to stand in any line during our visa interview process). We went to the consulate at around 09:30 AM and we were giving our interview at around 09:45 AM.

VO asked me below questions:

Which company you work for?

What's your specialization?
(Mine was L1-Individual Petition approved case). I just spoke one liner about my specialization and VO said ok.

His next questions were,

Where are you going to work?
Told him about my location of work.

So, are you going to use any software of your company?
I talked about my company's proprietary tools and its application towards the end client solution.

What's your US salary?
Answered as per Petition.

Most of the time he was typing on his computer itself :).

He didn't ask any question to my spouse.

After few seconds, he said "Your passport will be ready in 2-3 days. Thank You".

We thanked him and get out of the place :).

I think, what matters the most is your client, your company's proprietary tool and how strong you prepare your petition (For L1 Individual cases). my client's industry is very unique/rare.

And most importantly, your luck. Believe it or not, it plays it's role.

All the very best to all of you. May god help you.

Best Regards.
