L2 Visa Approved for Husband @ Chennai Consulate
I had my L2 Visa approved on the 14th of Oct, 2014 @ Chennai consulate.

I was on an L1 Visa from 2011 to 2014. My firm had then applied for an extension (I-129) which was denied in late September, so left the US 2 days after I got to know of the denial. (Yes, overstayed for 2 days)

Had then applied for an L2 Visa (My wife is on an L1 Visa).

Completed the Bio Metrics on 28th of Sept in Chennai and had my Visa appointment scheduled for the 6th of Oct, 2014.

TN Govt then decided to declare 6th of OCt, 2014 as a holiday for Bakrid at the last minute and as a result the US consulate in Chennai also declared a holiday and there went my interview scheduled for the 6th.

Then had to call up USTravelDocs customer care and then rescheduled my bio metrics and Interview. Yes, had to re-schedule bio metrics as well as the system does not allow you to re-schedule only the Consular Interview after you've attended the bio-metrics.

Attended the revised bio-metrics on the 5th of Oct 2014 with the consular appointment scheduled for the 14th of Oct 2014

On the 14th of Oct, 2014, there was a long queue. Went about 15 minutes before the scheduled time and waited outside for about 20 minutes before I entered the consulate.

Completed security (where they screwed up my documentation arrangement), walked over to the next building, got another fingerprint done.

Got my token number and waited for about 10 mins before I was called.

The VO looked at my case online and then asked me how long I had overstated and I replied "2 days".

I was then asked to go to another counter to get something corrected (I don't know what). Game my wife's passport copy at the counter I was sent to and was now told to go back to the original counter.

Went back to the original counter and was asked which company my wife is employed with. This was the only question I was asked to which I had answered.

30 seconds later, I was told my Visa was approved.

My Passport was made available the same day for collection as well.

I collected my passport 2 days later (Was out of town to collect the same day) and I am back in the US now.

Total time from my initial exit from US and back to the States = 3 Weeks.

***The End***
