L1B Approved on 3rd September 2015
My L1B visa was approved at the Chennai consulate on 3rd September 2015. My appointment was at 10:00 AM, reached the consulate at 9:15. There weren't many people waiting, hence the security asked us to go inside as soon as we reached. This was a surprise.
Also I was told during the bio-metric itself to take cash, since the dollar price had increased.

After the numerous security checks, we were asked to pay for the dollar difference. Here you can pay the difference in cash. My draft was for 33,000 and the new price was 34K. Hence paid in cash. However, for a gentleman, the original draft was 33,140 and the cashier was not ready to take the difference in cash for some reason ( probably since its not multiple of 500). He was asked to pay the entire amount by cash or credit card, debit card is not allowed. This is very important, hence please check your draft amount.
Post this, had my visa interview
Was asked the following questions
1. Why are you going to the US?
2. Who is your client?
3. Duration of your assignment.

Then the officer was constantly looking at the screen. Seeing my anxiety, he told me that my Visa is approved :-)

Few things which are important
1. Be confident
2. Talk loudly and in normal pace.
3. If your salary is above 100K US $, it definitely helps. Past records of your company matters.
4. Talk inline with your I129S form, the Visa office checks your answers against the form. Hence prepare your answers accordingly.
5. Prepare your interview questions, if possible ask someone to do a mock interview.
6. Most importantly do not panic with whats going around in the consulate. There will be people creating a bit of rucus due to Visa rejections.

All the best! :-)
