L1B Visa approved in Chennai consulate today (23 Dec)
Mine was L1 B individual. So there was very less chance for rejection. This site was immensely helpful and am documenting it for other users benefit.

First day was finger printing and you need to carry only PP, DS160 and appointment confirmation letter. It's sufficient to go there just 15 min before your appointment and process is easy.

I was preparing a lot for the interview and was worried :). My appointment was at 10:30, but i reached the consulate around 9:15 and they asked me to join the key. They verified my DS160 and password and then security check.

After that the finger print was verified and one more check. Then we (me and wife) were asked to join the queue for the interview. Today looks a good day for the people and i didn't see much rejections. My time came

VO: GM.
Myself: GM. How are you doing ?

VO: I am good thank you. How are you ?
Myself: We are good. Thanks

VO: Are you working in YYYY ?
Myself: Yes

VO: How long are you working there ?
Myself: YYYY years and YYYY months.

VO: Can you give your I797 ?
I gave it and he was looking for 20-30 sec.

VO: What's your marriage date ?
Myself: After a little bit thought, i said xxx

VO (To my wife): Is it correct ?
My Wife: Yes

Vo (To my wife): What's your highest qualification ?
My Wife: M.Sc Psychology

Vo (To my wife): Are you analysing us now ?
My Wife: She didn't understand the question and he repeated again and she smiled and said no.

Then the words we were waiting to hear. You visa is approved :-). VO took the passports and returned us the I797.

We: Thank you and Merry christmas.
VO: Wish you the same.

The overall process took 1 hour 30 min.
So for L1 individual, i think there is no need to carry I129. But better to carry.

Thanks
Suren
