    Update on my case

On Thursday I received a RFE dated 03/23. I really do believe that contacting Ombudsman helped in my case. Still haven't received EAD/AP. Case is in pending status, so we have to get busy responding.

"We are still reviewing your case and there are no updates at this time

We will notify you when your case status changes. We last took action on your case on November 8, 2017."

    I think either :
Same officer is handling all our cases and just updating as per higher official orders
    or
Our cases are finally getting processed
I just received an email for USCIS with response from by Service Request back in February 7th. My message is slightly different and says:

Your case is currently under review. You should receive a decision or notice of other action shortly.

I hope this is good news!

Over the phone agents are no help. I booked an appointment a month ago and said my case was waiting on background checks. At least they gave some information. Good luck to you!

    this is our timeline:
    Online Status @ https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/
    Priority Date October/10/2017
    Check Cashed October/16/2017
    RFE November/3/2017
    RFE Response Received November/27/2017
    EAD Received December/5/2017
    Interview Scheduled February/9/2018
    Interview Date March/14/2018
    Producing your Card March/14/2018
    Green Card Approved March/15/2018
Not sure why the card production started a day before the Approval notice.

now just waiting for my CARD

the interview went well, the Officer was friendly professional respectful, but thorough, even with 12 years of marriage and 4 biological kids, he still toke all of our evidence we had, Pictures; mortgage papers; bank statements; Insurance papers; my current pay stubs etc. we had about 80 pages worth of evidence with booth of our names on it, and he wanted it all.

he started of with my wife, and asked her about herself birth place and all personal info ssn etc, after about her parents info birth place and birth dates and addresses, and after that he just had a lot of questions about our relationship, about my history to the detail.. after about 20 minutes questioning her, it was my turn, I was able to answer all questions except my parents birth dates, and one of my parents birth place, didn't seem to be to be a problem.
and early on the interview he asked if I was inspected at the POE, I said yes, he looked at his computer and said I don't see your inspection the date and POE that you claim, but will continue and I will come back to it.
and he went on with lost questions about if I ever had or ever intent to break any immigration or USA law's, or if I ever had been charge an any country, or if I have or will become a public charge, or if I ever had worked illegal in the USA, or If I ever had entered the USA illegally.
at the end he just ask how I crossed the border, what the questions had been, what king of vehicle, who was the driver, (I was the driver) and I give him a second POE that was very close to the one I had claimed to cross on my application just in case if I had made a mistake, he wrote it down, and asked if we had any questions, I just asked does everything look good? he responded yes, but he had to check a couple of things.

    that was it.

once I got home I checked my phone map tracking history, and saw on google maps that I had indeed given the correct POE on my application.

my EAD was expedited base on financial hardship and a job offer, I got my EAD but not AP, now my AP application says it's close because I have receive the benefit through a different application.

hope it will help some of you, as all your updates have given me courage,

hope all goes well for all of you.

I know it feels like giving up sometimes, but hang in there.

    all the best.

I am in the same bus. 144 days since priority date. I raised a service request February 7th and was not assigned. I went to the field office and they said that the last time somebody touched my case was in January, and that now were waiting on background stuff. 6-7 months is what is forecasted for EAD which is crazy. It has been 5 months. Hoping that I will get my EAD soon.

Thanks a lot my friend. It is def difficult but this forum keeps me sane-- knowing I am not alone. I don't really know what is the issue is with some people EADs, whether location/overworked agents/ new regs. At this point, all I know is that bills still needs to be paid. Smh, I hope contacting ombudsman will help, I will find out in 45 days... regardless, I will keep u posted.
