Hello,
I have received a RFE as part of our AOS process. My wife was the primary applicant (under L1A visa) and her AOS has been approved.
In my case, there are 2 items in the RFE, but the more concerning one is related to our marriage certificate. For context, we were married in 2007 in Mumbai and our marriage certificate was issued under the Maharashtra regulation on Marriage Bureaus and Regulation of Marriage Act, 1998. USCIS claims that as required by the US Department of State, Visa Reciprocity and Civil Documents (https://travel.state.gov/content/tra...try/India.html), they can only accept marriage certificates issued under the Hindu Marriage Act of 1955. We have spoken with a representative of the Maharashtra Government and they are claiming that their certificate format is as per Maharashtra Marriage registration act of 1998.
We are therefore unsure of what documents we can additionally submit to fortify our case.
