Need advice on I-485 pending for 3.5 years
Hi I'm extremely worried about my situation. My I-485 was filed in Oct 2017 and I had my biometrics in Nov 2017. This is based on I-140 (employment based EB3). My country of origin is Pakistan. I've reached out to USCIS several times; service requests, requests to local congresswomen, private attorney letter; but every time I get the same response that the case is in additional review. I'm not able to get any more information. Most recently I've filed an application with USCIS Ombudsman office and also reached out to local senator's office. It seems like my last resort would be to file a mandamus case.
In the mean time; I'm extremely stressed out at my job and frustrated. I want to quit and just take a few months off work. I've also delayed other plans, items in my life and I'm feeling stuck. I would appreciate if I can get any advice on how to navigate this situation; if I can quit my job and take some time off without work. Any pointers to how I can engage more with USCIS would be appreciated too. Thanks!
