My green card, which expired in April, is being renewed. I have a sticker on the back extending its validity through December 2016. I'm traveling to India on United for a two week vacation well before that period ends. Two separate United agents have told me this should be fine for boarding, and i know there should be no problem entering the US with this extended green acard.
To those who have done this:
Did any of you face any questions or problems checking in at the airline counter, boarding or getting past the Indian immigration officers at the airport who stamp your passport as you leave India? Are the people involved familiar with these extension stickers?
I ask because i had an awful experience with Virgin Atlantic just recently for a flight transiting in London. The flight i am now taking is direct.
