Change of name after 2 yrs of Green Card

Hi,

I would like to know the procedure for change of name on the green card. My son has a long name(s) on his Indian Passport which is also reflected in his GC. The Birth certificate issued in India also has all the names. We want to have just the last name and middle name in his Indian Passport and also his GC. Can some one advice the procedure and also how much time this would take.
