My conditional permanent residency(Green card) expires on April 12,2005.
I have filed for divorce on the basis of desertion on June30, 2004. The divorce will most probably happen in July 2005. I cannot file for waiver on joint petitioning for form I-751 nor my wife and i will do joint petition for I-751.
This will possibly cause termination of my status, on some later date start of deportation proceedings. My concern is how to keep on working after April 12, 2005 ?
a) Is there a way i can obtain an 'employment authorization document' for April 12, 2005 onwards ?
b) Can i self-petition an immigration court to obtain some legal status before or on April 12,2005 ?
