  • I-751 - Waiver - Removing conditions while divorce is pending

    Hello,
I recently filed for Divorce and it will take at least 91 days for me to have a decree and I'm currently filing form I-751 to remove conditions trying to waive the need for my former spouse to sign.
I had a few consultations with immigration attorneys and they said I would be ok filing for divorce right before sending I-751, but they were not able to walk me through the form without a "retainer/flat fee". My questions are regarding the fields where they ask if I'm married or divorced. I currently am married because the decree is not there yet and I just started the divorce process with the court of Colorado, so should I put married or divorced? There's another question regarding when the marriage ended, and then again, it ended for us as soon as we filed but I don't have proof of being final because we are in the middle of the proceedings. Anyone with a similar situation that could contact me to give me a little help? My I-751 is due in August and I'm freaking out a little bit. Thank you!
