Can anyone give me some advice on how my British boyfriend can get a job in the US so he can move out here to be with me? I understand once he finds an employer willing to sponsor him, they file the Labor Certification, and upon approval, he files the I 140, gets that approved, and then files the I 765 Employment Authorization so he can then work. This process seems to be estimated at a 5-6 month timeline from the date of the filing of the labor certification to the final I 765 being approved. Does this sound about right? he would be filing the $1000 extra fee for the expidited I 140 service, so keep that in mind. Also, where should we start looking for an employer, and find one willing to do all this for him? He will be moving to the Seattle, WA area and is in construction/landscaping. I am desperate for some advice.
