Hi! Sorry if this is posted in the wrong category, I wasn't sure which one to post in!
So I filed for a green card in October 2014, we did everything and had my interview mid August 2015 (husband was active duty Military and we lived in Japan.)
Everything was approved, we paid all fees and I applied for a SSN with all of that.
I flew to America September 3rd 2015 and handed everything in. I hadn't received ANYTHING so November 3rd 2015, I went to the social security office in person and they said I wasn't even in the system? So she had to re-enter all of my information and ordered me a SSN. She printed a letter saying I had applied and had to wait up to 4 weeks.
Well it's basically been 4 weeks, and still nothing. I phoned the local office and was told they can't track my card or info via phone and I have to go in person.
I don't drive - can't get a license until I have my SSN (tried last week), and my husband works all week. It's becoming a night mare just to get this!
Any ideas?
Also, when will I get my green card? Or the welcome packet everybody has mentioned?!
Is there a number I can call to ask about my green card itself?
I can't work or drive, it's really making life close to impossible.
