Requirements With the Form DS 230 Submission

I am petetioner & have filed for my mum I 130.

I paid the IV fee bill, Now the last stage here to send DS 230.

For us the Coonsulate office is Mumbai India.

I have a question that with the DS 230 Do I need to send the other documents like marriage certi, birth certi etc. from here or not ? Because I heared from India that All other documents are to be submitted with VFS before interview.

So please give me the advise that if I send DS 230 with Passport copy of my Mum Will NVC send the files to Mumbai or Not?

Hi Shashi,

I have heard both ways, but the latest information I've received from NVC is that NVC will request all of those documents with DS230 before the case goes to Mumbai. However, I'm not quite there yet so I don't know for sure.

My I-130 was just approved by CSC for my wife in India. Can you tell me how long it took for NVC to contact you with a case number after USCIS approved the petition? I'd also appreciate any information you could give me regarding the subsequent steps and timing.
