Hi everyone,
I am new here and hope everyone is doing well.
I have a question to ask.
I was a LPR until October 17, 2011. That is when I became a US Citizen. I applied for my spouse back in Jan 2009 as an LPR and we had our child in Sep 2009 and I added my child by contacting NVC. Everything went smoothly.
My spouse got her interview letter on September 29, 2011, when I was an LPR. The interview is in the 2nd week of November at Islamabad. However, now that I have become a US citizen, I contacted the embassy to update my status and they said they have updated the status of my spouses case from F2A to IR1.
However, they said that I would have to file a separate/new I-130 application for my child through USCIS.
So what do I do? File another i-130 for my child and pay their fees? What about when it goes to NVC? I have already submitted my daughters NVC fees. Do I have to pay it all over again or can I show them the receipt that I have already paid the necessary fees?
I am now worried because I think the process will take even longer. Can anyone help me?
I would appreciate anyone's assistance and similar situations feedback.
Thanks
