Hello,
I need help in determining what application(s) or affidavit of support needs to filled-out to become a sponsor, but here is he situation and issues that caused me to get confused:
1. I live in the same household as the original petitioning sponsor, who does not have any income since he got green card a year or 2 years ago.
2. My relationship with original petitioning sponsor is that I am the son-in-law
3. My father in law, original petitioning sponsor, is listed as a dependant on 2010 tax returns
4. Original petioner lives with me in the same household
Now, here are my questions:
Since I know for sure I qualify and exceed poverty guidelines based on the number of people in my household including myself. However, besides completing an i-864a, I am not sure whether I have to fill-out i-864 just as my father-in-law, who I believe seems to be required to fill-out i-864 b/c he is the original petioner of his children-abroad. In addition, to make things worse, I would like to know if there is any issue with just using my father's last name on tax returns when my greencard shows both father's last name and mother's last name, do I need to send an affidavit or anything else to avoid delays bc of name issues? Lastly, my credit report might show collections for medical bill and not a good credit rating, would that affect in qualifying to sponsor?
