can other agent apply for another 140 visa.

sir,
one recruiting company already filed my 1-140 visa in oct 2005.and iam not sure will they continue my processing of the visa since they terminated the contract between the indian company.indian agency gave me the release..now i dont have any communication with the us agency.they are not responding...uscis web site is not showing that my 1-140 is cancelled.is there any problem if i start my 1-140 with another agent.
